The Polar Coachman flyfishing club is a family oriented group that strives to have a mix of different ages, gender and expertise among its membership. Its purpose is :

1. to promote flyfishing. For example: - present free flyfishing clinics open to the public
   
   
2. to learn and share expertise. For example: - demonstrate fly patterns during flytying evenings - share knowledge and ideas (a chance for novices to learn and the experienced to pass on expertise) - invite guest speakers to the business meetings
   
   
3. to contribute to the community. For example: - provide boats and captains at CNIB fishouts - do flytying demonstrations for schools, cubs, scouts, etc.
   
   
4. to support environmental stewardship. For example: - organize environmental projects - encourage responsible attitudes
   
   
5. to facilitate socialization among the members. For example: - arrange annual family Christmas parties - put on yearly family weekend BBQ's and fishouts
