First Nations
The First
Nations peoples look at fishing differently than sport fishermen. This is
because fish have always been a very important part of their lives, a staple
food and the key to survival for the First Nations peoples of north Central
British Columbia.

The First
Nations Perspective looks at the importance of fish in the current day as well
as in the past. Here, members of the Carrier Nation share their knowledge and
beliefs about fish and the important role that fish has always played in their
culture. We'll learn about traditional methods of catching and storing the
fish, and about modern day fisheries management.
